About

Once upon a time there was a house (don’t all good stories start with a house)  that sat waiting for a family to bring it to life.  It sat waiting for a family to fill its halls with love and laughter. It sat waiting for nights of family Zumba, popcorn, homework, homemade chocolate chip cookies, tables covered in glitter from craft projects, and kittens curled up next to the fire.  It sat still and patient with peeling wallpaper and empty halls for life to begin anew.

Once upon a time there was a family (I think you know where this is going). They were looking for a forever and ever house.  A house they could fill with memories.  A house where they could play games of Monopoly that would never end, read books in the leafy branches of a treehouse, follow a winding path to create projects galore in  a tiny art house and tell jokes that always end with “orange you glad you didn’t say banana.”  A house where they could raise turtles and fish and dogs and cats.   A house where a warm fire, a good book and a cup of hot tea were always waiting.  A house for friends and family to know they were special.

This is the story of how the family that was looking for a house found a home. This is our story.

  4. I just found your funny, inspiring and beautiful blog when looking randomly at just a few of the CHristmas decor blogs on Hooked on Holiday. Thanks for taking the time to write and post. I’m going to share your efforts now with my daughters and my sisters. I like your combination of creativity, humor and seriousness (as in printing the words to the song, “Peace on Earth”). That was stunning. So, Merry Christmas to you and thank you for sharing.
